Going Independent

So, I've been on kind of a half-hearted job hunt recently. I had money in the bank, the bills were getting paid, but I hadn't worked since the end of March. I had started going stir crazy a little, but I didn't want to settle. I wanted to make more than I had at my last job (where I think I sold myself short) and didn't want to go back into the Mortgage Industry.
Today I had a meeting with a friend's company, and I am going to building a Database for them. The job is going to last a month or so, and I am going to make about twice what I was at my last job. I am now an independent contractor, of the technical variety. I don't know if I can land more gigs of this variety, but it makes me feel a great deal better about myself.
In other news, this is the tech week for "Earthlings Beware" at CMCP. It's been exhausting. It is a very complicated show technically and is proving to be a daunting task getting it on it's feet. We open up on Friday. I think we will be fine, it's just a little stressful right now.
